I don't think J-11B and J-15 are fitted AESA due to its complexity and high cost. The next generation fighters (J-16 and up) should have it.

I don't think J-11B and J-15 are fitted AESA due to its complexity and high cost. The next generation fighters (J-16 and up) should have it. Well, this interview with Lei Qiang apparently concluded that they are fitted with AESA. There has been a rumor that the J-10B's AESA radar is a smaller variant of the one fitted on the J-11B and J-15. The fact that the nose part of the J-11B is canted also suggest a possible integration of AESA in the near future. |
