Can anyone shed light on the recent Pak AF deployment to China? Yepp ... this is the joint Sino-Pakistani-exercise "Shaheen II": This exercise conducted between the PAF and PLAAF took place between 3 and 22 September 2013 and is already the second of such exercises. However as stated by the Chinese Defense Ministry this exercise in cooperation with a foreign Air Force took place for the first time in China itself, in the northwestern China’s Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, in Hetian Prefecture. Following Chinese and Pakistani spokesmen the exercise “involves complex air operations for mutual learning as well as improving the coordination and interoperability of both the air forces” and to “provide an opportunity to validate joint air power employment concepts.” Involved in this joint exercise were J-10A and JH-7A from the PLAAF as well as F-7PG and Mirage III from the PAF.
