Hello there. On the blog, the Z-18 is described as based off the AC313 and Z-8 design, and the flight is expected 2013 around that time. However, other blogs and sources are claiming that it is actually a joint Russian-Chinese design based from the Mi-26. Can the helicopter be based off the latter and is it still expected to fly in 2013?

Z-18 is indeed based on Z-8 and has a new lower fuselage replacing the old "boat" shaped fuselage. If you remove the AEW radar from Z-8YJ, that's what Z-18 would look like. The joint Sino-Russian project based on Mi-26 should have a different designation. Check out my helicopter page for its drawing.

Do you know when might the helicopter prototype be finished, because sources are saying nobody has agreed yet?
