I have not heard anything lately, it was just a rumor. It appears to me that the single engine stealth fighter might come from 601/SAC (J-19?).

There were rurmors that there would be improved FC-1/JF-17B coming out. Now it appears that there will be no major upgraded variants in the near future, until FC-1/JF-17 finds additional foreign customers...

PAF has yet to make up their mind on the proposed twin-seated JF-17B or any upgraded version, it is too early to speculate their 5th generation stealth fighter. However it is reasonable to say that the J-19 from SAC which has two engines but smaller than J-20 will be a good candidate to meet PAF's needs.

PAF doesn't allow for twin engine fighters, and the J-2X might win orders from PLAAF as well.

Huitong, for the pic you now have for the J-19 entry, what makes you think that is actually what J-19/J-21 will look like? It was shown at an event and given an arbitary "F-60" name, so isn't it likely to just be a student's model/project?

the authenticity of that J-21 model was confirmed by the admin at cjdby.net, J-21 also aims at the international market so it is expected to be declassified later this year
