Hey, I have been thinking about this, and I'm wondering if you could help me.
Why does China have so many strikers in development? The J-16, JH-7B, J-17?
Thus far, only the JH-7B has any sort of validity as to its existence. But I cannot see how the JH-7B could possibly compete with the J-16 or J-17.
If the JH-7B is still uses WS-9 engines, it simply would make no sense to produce it when Shenyang is offering a better product.
What do you think is going on here? Are two strikers going to enter service? Or just one?

I am not sure all three will eventually enter the service. J-16 is supposed to fly end of this year. J-17 and JH-7B are less certain. However they are developed by different companies so their fate will be different too. I personally think JH-7B has the least chance since it is a design with a modest improvement.
