Does the post explicitly mention CFTs, though? I don't think it did; all it said was that this variant has longer range than previous versions, which may be due to the aforementioned engine upgrade, use of composite materials, etc.

The rumor also mentioned that the new variant will have upgraded electronics, an improved engine, and systems that allow the aircraft to achieve some level of "stealth" despite its legacy airframe.

This variant is likely just that. It's implied through the fact that it can share production lines with the J-10B/C (which is what one would expect of a twin-seat variant).

For year, Chengdu been trying to developed 2 seater with conformal fuel tank. image of small scale model in wind tunnel release few years ago and batch/Logo ,the J-10d more likely private venture.for PLAAF, why need strike version of J-10 variant when you got J-15/16?Is Chengdu trying to pursade PLAAF to replace JH-7 with j-10D?
